Information about Rodos island

Rodos is the largest island in the Dodecanese Island and is located on the south-eastern tip of Greece. It has an area of 1398 square km., 220 km coastline and its population is 112,477 inhabitants (census 2001). Traditional products of the island are cereals, fruits, olives, olive oil, wine and tobacco. The exceptional wines of Rodos are produced with main factors the brilliant sun and the soft climate of island and gained recently the Name of Origin of Superior Quality.
In Rodos, there are two key markets, one within a wall in Old Town and one in the new Town. At Jewish Martyrs Square and at Liberty Square, you will find painters who make portraits of bystanders. In the new city, the movement along the market stops early. Rodos is famous for her night life.
Most clubs are located in the new city, from the hotel of the Roses to Ialyssos, while the so-called 'national bars' make the difference because they are frequented by visitors of the same nationality.
